Concurrent Enrollment Program

The Concurrent Enrollment Program is for Clark College and Lower Columbia College nursing students who want to earn a BSN degree. The CEP lets you take RN to BSN courses during summers while completing your associate nursing degree. This option helps provide a seamless transition between your community college and WSU.

FAQs

Talk with your ADN advisor to decide if the CEP is right for you. Your first priority is to be successful in the community college nursing program. You will be unable to continue in the CEP if you don’t maintain satisfactory academic progress at the community college. It is important to remember that you have the option of enrolling in the RN to BSN program after graduation as well.

All students accepted into a nursing program at Clark College and Lower Columbia College will be given the option to apply for the CEP with WSU. You must maintain satisfactory academic status in the community college nursing program to continue enrollment in the CEP. You must also pass all BSN courses at WSU with a C (73%) or higher to continue in the CEP.

The nursing degree (DTA/MRP) takes care of all RN to BSN prerequisites and WSU general education requirements (or UCORE). There are no hidden surprises!

There is one attendance date each semester via Zoom. It is a required day of interactive learning for all RN to BSN students statewide. Most courses are online in Canvas using an asynchronous format.

This will depend upon when you started your associate degree nursing program (fall, winter or spring), the number of BSN classes you take each summer and the community college you are attending. Email Jenny Schrock for an idea of what your plan might look like.
